A perfect gemmy green 11 x 5 mm emerald beryl crystal is perched on well-crystallized white calcite matrix in this fine specimen from the classic La Pita mine, Maripí Municipality, Boyacá, Colombia. A very aesthetic example of a sought-after gem species on matrix. The emerald is in perfect condition and the white calcite matrix is nicely-crystallized. From recent finds. Annette Slade photo.
