This is a superb, highly-aesthetic green apophyllite miniature from the old 1960’s-era find at the classic Indian locality of Pune which yielded what are probably India’s most beautiful and sought-after apophyllite specimens. It’s easy to see why these gorgeous green apophyllites are so prized, with their rich green color, glassy luster, and frequent occurrence as isolated “starbursts” of crystals on contrasting white stilbite matrix. This fine old Indian classic is in excellent condition and can be displayed from multiple sides. It features numerous sharp, lustrous apophyllite crystals to ~2 cm which extend all the way across a small dome-like matrix of white stilbite. Really a nice, clean, showy one of these classic Indian green apophyllites. From the noted collection of Gerald Herfurth (1930-1998) of Denver, Colorado. Annette Slade photo. Classic!
