China’s Yaogangxian tungsten mine is considered by many collectors to produce the highest-quality and most desirable fluorite crystals from this mineral-rich country, and some say the world. Production of good mineral specimens from this large operating mine has really dwindled in recent years, and fine examples of color-zoned Yaogangxian fluorite have become highly sought-after. This is a gorgeous cabinet-size example featuring sharp glassy color-zoned purple crystals with a wonderfully sharp “window” phantom in each fluorite crystal. The fluorite crystals completely surround and cover a 3-dimensional mound of druzy white quartz crystals, and this can be displayed from multiple sides.
