Colorado’s Creede Mining District, located in the rugged San Juan Mountains in the southwest part of the state, is known for it’s superb specimens of numerous minerals, including galena. This is an excellent and very aesthetic group of modified, cubic galena crystals showing interesting modified faces. Sits upright for display on it’s own, with interesting skeletal growth on the backside. From the noted collection of Tom Rosemeyer who obtained it in the 1990s from Dave Bunk Minerals. Classic!! Mark Cross photo.
