Michigan’s Central mine, located in the northern part of the famous Lake Superior Copper District on the Keweenaw Peninsula, is world-famous for its superb copper specimens. This is a highly-aesthetic miniature consisting of elongated, parallel-growth spinel twins growing off a base of blockier, dodecahedral to textrahexahedral crystals, a somewhat atypical combination. A perfect brown patina and the “self-standing” nature of this wonderful little tripod-like specimen make it a super copper miniature.
