This is a fine and classic example of vibrant pink ,elongated scalenohedronal cobaltoan smithsonite crystals from the iconic Tsumeb mine in Namibia. Tsumeb smithsonites occur in nearly every color under the sun, and some of the most prized are the delicate-pink cobalt-rich crystals such as this fine example. The crystals are gemmy and lustrous with good transparency and elongated form. A few small incomplete crystals to not distract from the aesthetics of this excellent and unusual pink smithsonite from the world’s premier locality for the species.
