This is a fabulous specimen of dense, solid black uraninite with a beautifully-complete “full rind” of colorful secondary uranium minerals (the so-called “gummite” group of species) from an unusual and classic uranium mining district in Argentina. This is super HOT, measuring over 200,000 CPM on my Ludlum Model 3, and I think it’s fairly aesthetic as well for what it is! Very rare material, the best ore specimen I have personally ever seen from this area.
