The Vetas Gold Mining District in Colombia’s Santander Province hosts rich veins of epithermal-style gold mineralization which, in recent years, have produced rare specimens of very attractive, leafy, crystallized gold on matrix. This is an exceptional example of this small find from the La Tosca mine, with lustrous, buttery-yellow gold crystals and leaves on quartz matrix. A great, aesthetic example of this unusual find, which displays well from multiple angles. Ex. Raul Sanabria collection. Mark Cross photo.
