The Les Farges mine produced some of Europe (and indeed the world’s) finest pyromorphite specimens for a brief period in the 1970’s and early 80’s, before being closed forever. Prized for their rich green color, often large crystal size, and distinct morph0logy, Les Farges mine pyromorphite specimens are true European mineral classics. This is a very nice cabinet-size specimen featuring lustrous forest-green pyromorphite crystals to 1 cm completely covering a bladed white barite matrix. A fine old-time Les Farges pyromorphite, from the collection of Matt Hanley. While there is some minor damage, overall the piece is in good condition and displays from multiple angles.
