Muddy Creek, located near Wolf Creek Pass in southern Colorado’s Rio Grande county, is a classic Colorado barite crystal locality. This is an exceptionally-aesthetic and high-quality example for the locality, featuring sharp, undamaged, blue-gray barite crystals to 6 cm perched on white matrix. Fantastic aesthetics and form make this about the best barite I have personally seen from the classic locality. Annette Slade photo.
